Python Atlanta Meetup

Manuels Tavern (map)

Selected By: A former member

This month we will be meeting at Manuel's Tavern! If you want plenty of time to talk and eat dinner, try getting there around 6pm or 6:30pm. The main meeting will start at 7:30pm with our presentations and lightning talks. Our talks will be:

  • Talk #1: Developing for Facebook with Django and the Google App Engine by Leif Poorman — notes from an ongoing project in using the popular Python web framework, powered by the App Engine, to offer services to users on Facebook.

  • Talk #2: Remote Shells by Brandon Rhodes — have you ever wanted to take control of a Telnet or SSH connection right from inside of Python? Whether you are doing system administration, automation, or are trying to configure your Motorola DSL switch from inside of a Python program, Brandon will have hints about how to handle the communications end of the problem.

  • Lightning talk: Celery - The Distributed Task Queue by Matt Culbreth

  • Lightning talk: AMQP messaging with Java and Python by Chris Sears

  • You must be a member to post a comment. Join or login.
