Python FTW (for the web)

Python FTW (for-the-web)

The web is now brimming with Python web frameworks, how do you choose the right one for your application?  While this user group has always been a little *biased* towards Django, this meetup intends to investigate the good, bad, and ugly of all the major Python web frameworks including Django, Tornado, and Flask, just to name a few.  Some frameworks are built for performance, others for flexibility, and finally others for simplicity. Use the right framework for your web app and get to market faster with the best tech available.

Frameworks we'll be 'trying' to discuss:

News about our Meetup:

This is the first Dallas Django User Group at our new HQ: the rewardStyle office off Travis in uptown.  It's a great venue and its my first meetup as organizer.  Brandon and Nizam, our gracious founders, have passed on the torch and I intend to do my best to keep this group informative, fun, and ever-evolving (much like Python itself.)  Everyone is encouraged to come around and discuss their experiences working with Python on the web.

Thanks! - gary.

Gary gave a great, very informative overview of some of the major Python web frameworks. I like how the meetup was not all django specific, but also covered using Python on the web in general. Thanks, Gary!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and learning about the basics of Python Web Frameworks. I'm looking forward to the next meeting. Great place to have it at rewardStyle.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. I'll do my best to be here next time!

Hey guys .. Travis Walk is the name of the building where the rewardstyle office is. When you're coming south on Travis (if you came from Knox), there is a driveway on the left side that goes under the building. Park on the first or the 2nd level underground and take the elevator to the 3rd level. If you miss the driveway just u-turn a block or 2 down - going the other direction you'll see a big sign that says Parking Below.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
