A really good, well put together presentation focused on Hadoop and its uses in industry. Loved all the relating back to real world apps such as Facebook, made for relevant and interesting examples. And a good mix of topic and pitch. A glimpse into the future....

The overview and simple example (word count) were great! I would have liked to see a real life example in one of the contexts that were mentioned (eg. media, retail etc): example source data; how it is mapped out to the nodes; example Hive query to get a report from it etc.

Love that we have Silicon Valley companies coming to Australia to tell us their story about their wares. Really enjoyed the presentation.

Great talk and great insight of what hadoop is all about and what's its strength and weakness. I like the comparison of hadoop vs DBMS and how it can fit into current EDW architecture. Very clear.
