Thanks for the great update Steve. It's so easy to be cynical about things like language stewardship and platform direction. I won't say I don't have some concerns in several areas but it was good to hear some of the positive things that are happening on various fronts. Lots of positives to take away.

As I mentioned in the meeting, Groovy 2.0 will be released shortly. For those at the bleeding edge you will find snapshots in:


look for the various 2.0.0-rc-1-SNAPSHOT artifacts. Otherwise rc-1 will be out within a matter of days
and would be a good version to try out.

Big ticket items in 2.0: optional static checking, optional static typing, modularisation.
