Title: Mapping Open Data in R

Speaker: Ari Lamstein

Ari Lamstein (http://www.arilamstein.com/) has been working at the intersection of R, open data and mapping for the last two years. This work has led to 6 R packages and 3 courses. His free course, Learn to Map Census Data in R (http://www.arilamstein.com/free-course/), has been taken by over 2,000 people.

Description:

In this free workshop Ari will teach the basics of mapping open data sets in R. We will first learn the basics of how to do exploratory data analysis with maps. Then we will start exploring data from the the US Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Time permitting we will also explore country-level data from the World Bank and Japanese Census Bureau.http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/5/4/f/600_449378223.jpeg
