This is a group for adults who are interested in jewelry of ALL kinds -- wire, metals, beads, found/recycled items, chainmaille, cord-knotting, resin, lampwork, clay, silver, etc.
Members are encouraged to share their jewelry-related skills and information, and to ask questions. However, we are not a venue for in-depth instruction. We are primarily a social group. Our meetups include discussions, demonstrations, projects, meals, and special events. We meet in stores and restaurants in Raleigh. We maintain a calendar of local jewelry-related events, message boards about jewelry-making, and a monthly email newsletter with jewelry-related info.
New members are welcome. To avoid spammers, potential members must answer a few questions and be approved by a moderator before they are added to the group. They are also asked to read our "About" page. It's very important, for the continued success of this group and in order to avoid any misunderstandings about what we do and what we expect, that potential members check out this information.
Being a "meetup," we do expect members to actually meet. Our goal is to socialize, developing friendships and connections even as we develop our knowledge about jewelry. Potential members should be within a reasonable distance from Raleigh to be able to attend meetups. Members who do not attend at least one meetup within 6 months of joining will be removed from the group.
If you want to check out the group before joining, we have one open meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm at Panopolie.
Its content is only available to members.
To learn more, contact the organizer directly, or you can go ahead and join the group.
