I've been hiking on-and-off for the past five years, more "on" over the past year or so. I'm out there at least three times every week - either locally at Blue Hills or further afield in NH.
So far, I've only done day hikes, but I'm game to try bushwhacking and (someday, with more hiking experience) backpacking too.
Put simply, I love hiking. It's the best "reset button" for a week spent behind a desk. I'd like to complete the NH48 eventually as well (got two so far!) *ETA: Now at 14 4Kers, as of June 2015.
Most strenuous hikes ever - but both were completely worth the effort: 1. Bridal Veil Falls in Telluride, Colorado. The lower oxygen level was a shock to my sea-level lungs, even after three days at altitude. 2. Mount Jackson at Crawford Notch. It was my first winter hike and my first-ever 4000-footer...on three hours of sleep, very little breakfast, *and* a three-hour drive that morning. And I still had a great time!
I don't have any hiking leadership experience, but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot with more experience.
Hi, I'm Heather. I really enjoy hiking and am looking for more opportunities to get out there and meet new hiking buddies.
