What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

I have been hiking since I was a kid. I have always been up for anything from a guided trail walk to an early morning start up Mt. Washington. I do some trail running, and love yoga to stretch out. I have hiked all over New England, and in parts of the midwest, CO and WY.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

Like a long day hike (8-10 miles). I have great endurance and enjoy a challenge.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

I am currently a day hiker. Would like to work up to back packing. I have this "thing" where I have to see as many sights/trails as I can with the precious time allowed on earth...

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

Deer Mtn., Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, CO. Approximately, 10,000 ft., about a 6 mile round trip. Done in early spring, trail was mostly snow covered, from ankle to knee length. The hard part was keeping up with a local and dealing with altitude sickness. The elevation was a constant battle, but the best was sledding down some sections on my back pack, Whoopie!

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

I am a local hikes leader for the Narragansett Chapter of the AMC.

Introduction

It's always fun to meet new people - especially those who like to get outdoors!
