As the only male, I was welcomed as a "pioneer", but I just came for technical information to improve my diet. The women had emotion, sensuality, and bodies sensitive to foods in ways that were beyond me. Kim's use-of and lessons-about the flavors and odors of essential oils were appropriate. In her "playful instruction" Goddess Diana focused on emotional issues related to diet and life, whereas Erin was more technical. The group observed, helped-prepare, and ate many extraordinary dishes, but I appreciated Goddess Diana's rule of preferring recipes that have 5 or fewer ingredients. The weekend was a labor of love for Goddess, Erin, and Kim given how little money they received after covering their expenses. But there was also lots to learn and love about the other participants who brought their own warmth and enthusiasm in such a variety of personality types and experiences. I gained some valuable insights about improving my diet, and lots more that I would not have expected to gain.

Wow! I was sooooo amazed at this weekend! Everyone was so open to learn and wanted to participate and asked many questions :) I really loved meeting each person and how quickly we all clicked together. I loved teaching you new recipes and it felt great to hear the 'silence' when we were all eating and enjoying our meals. Thanks again and I look forward to the next one!

A great retreat with Goddess's Diana, Erin and Kim.
Learning more about making raw desserts and using coconut butter. Delish. I have not used a dehydrator yet. Seeing how Goddess Erin uses the dehydrator for cookies, candy, chips and crackers, and how yummy they are. I am planning to make some raw desserts now. We took a ride down to Josh's organic market and tasted the fresh local produce and red sorrel with its citrus flavor, awesome. Learning about essential oils from Goddess Kim and how they can benefit our health and sense of well being. How wonderful it is to laugh, make noises and shake all over to destress the body, with Goddess Goddess. Enjoying the yoga sessions with Kim, the stretching and relaxing of the body. Thank you Goddess's and to everyone who attended. Until we meet again. Goddess Susan.

Erin, thank you. I can tolerate a small amount of powered garlic, but I usually avoid it all-together. Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi Goddess! I sent you an email a couple of days ago regarding my food sensitivities, but I did not receive a confirmation. I cannot tolerate any amount of fresh garlic. I am sensitive to fresh onions as well, but I can tolerate a small amount. I just wanted to make sure there will be no complications during the event. I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming weekend. See you soon.

Alina - don't worry - we'll be able to separate garlic out of the recipes that include it. Thanks for letting us know in advance. A question - can you do powdered garlic? Or just best to avoid it all-together? Thanks and looking forward to meeting you!

I am so looking foward to this event you are putting on. It makes me smile! Very much needing to understand how to put foods together for it's optimal health properties, and what foods should not be put together. See you soon Erin. :-)

Thanks Susan -I agree -a lot of digestive problems come up in the raw food world because people don't understand the exact chemistry of food and what combines well with other foods. It's a bit different when the food is cooked -but things can become especially troublesome when one eats mainly raw food. Looking forward to teaching you all a thing or two :)

thaHAhank you SisterGoddess Judy and SisterGoddess Kathy for your feedback about Irish Moss. And thank you SisterGoddess Erin for providing so much more information so we can continue our research and determine what works best for us. SisterGoddess Elaina's blog is quite informative and concludes what I found - Irish Moss in its original form is extremely beneficial. The carageenan culprit comes from the extraction process when removing it from the Moss. As we well know, what is processed is no longer pure in format and best for our bodies. SisterGoddess Kathy put it best. All in moderation.

I do love how SisterGoddess Erin's recipe can be made without Irish Moss as well. Woohoo!!!

    Hi Everyone

I recently received a concern about Irish Moss after the last recipe I sent out to you all.

I've done some research and my dear friend and colleague Elaina Love, of Pure Joy Planet, actually wrote a great blog about it.

    Check it out!
    http://elainalove.com/2012/10/13/the-buzz-about-irish-moss/

I'm still of the conclusion that Irish Moss is fantastic for the health based on my own personal use of it and it's help in clearing up allergies and sinus issues.

But like anything- do your own research and trust YOUR INTUITION!

    To Your VIBRANT health,
    Erin
