Google Translate Solution in a Budget Constrained Setting: How to Deal with this Recurring Theme for Multilingual Websites - RESCHEDULED!
Please join us at our next RLO meetup for a collaborative discussion on the pros and cons of using automated translations on government websites.
To prepare for this meetup, we ask you to research the topic and to come in with a point or two to share about your own experience, research you have done, questions you may have, or articles or studies you have found on the topic, such as: Automated Translation—Good Solution or Not (https://www.howto.gov/web-content/multilingual/automated-translation)?
Feel free to bring any additional information you may have about private companies or other types of organizations that use Google Translate.
If you work for a government agency, it would be very interesting to learn about your agency’s position on this topic.
We hope to document our findings and conclusions and put together a list of best practices or perhaps even a white paper, but we'll discuss the details at the meetup.
We will have refreshments at 6:00 pm and the working session will start promptly at 6:30, so please arrive early to participate in a dynamic discussion on an important topic in communication with the Spanish-dominant Hispanic community online.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on October 2nd!
