Agenda:
18:00 - Meet & Mingle

18:30 - Opening words

18:35 - From Zero to Tested - FE System Tests at HoneyBook - Nirel Yehoyada, Staff Full Stack Engineer @ HoneyBook and Shai Yallin, Freelance Software Engineer and DevEx Consultant.

How do you introduce a suite of fast, reliable tests into a legacy system? Two years ago, Honeybook’s test suite relied heavily on E2E tests, resulting in a poor feedback cycle and low confidence in code changes. This talk describes how we introduced a new testing infrastructure for the company’s React UI that gave us the level of confidence of an E2E test combined with the speed and debuggability of JSDOM unit tests, and significantly improved our dev experience and confidence.

Nirel is a passionate full stack developer with experience across various technologies, whose love for code stems from a love for creation. He began coding at age 15 and has pursued it with dedication ever since, mastering skills in bootstrapping apps from scratch and persevering in the face of skepticism. During his time as a DevOps Engineer, he gained hands-on experience with Linux distributions and expanded his understanding of the layers both below and above the code.
In his spare time, he continuously seeks to learn new concepts and stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends.

About Shai- an engineer, architect, and engineering manager with over 15 years of hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, nowadays he helps startups deal with their growing pains by helping them write maintainable software.

19:05 - Making Sense in Web Rendering Patterns - Gil Fink, sparXys CEO and Senior Consultant.

In the world of web development, there’s more than one way to paint pixels on the screen. From Server-Side Rendering (SSR) to Client-Side Rendering (CSR), Static Rendering, and the increasingly popular Islands architecture, the choices can be as diverse as they are daunting. But what if you could make sense of it all and choose the right approach with confidence?
In this session, we’ll explore and compare various rendering patterns, including Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Client-Side Rendering (CSR), Static Rendering, and Islands architecture. You'll gain a clear understanding of when to apply each pattern and how they can impact your projects. Join us to sharpen your decision-making skills and confidently choose the best rendering strategy for your web app needs.

Gil Fink is a web development expert, Google Web Technologies GDE and sparXys CEO. Has experience in managing developer teams and projects.
