Project DRIFT: Predicting the possibility of issues and their impact on deadline

Topic:

Challenges faced by project managers today are the same faced by project managers hundreds of years ago:

  • Budget Issues
  • Lack of Necessary Resources
  • Not Enough Time to Complete the Work

When combined, all of these challenges can lead to a much bigger problem...Project Drift (Delivery Risk Indicators & Factors)

What is Project Drift?

Project Drift exists when a project moves off course to the point of delivering late and/or delivering over budget. It can be caused by a single over-due task or by a series of major challenges. The most important thing to understand about Project Drift is that it is predictable and avoidable.

This presentation looks at how team members can identify, assess, and communicate risks.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand what risk is and how to identify and evaluate it
  • Discover ways to reduce the fear of communicating risk
  • Learn about tools that help manage and mitigate risk
