Pair Program at an Americas friendly time

Okay, so it's still early in the day on the Pacific coast, but how about this more Americas friendly time? A few more details available here: but the key thing is that we all come online, chat and work out what we fancy remote pair programming on.

Feel free to connect to me on Skype (username "tansaku") to join the live remote pair programming text chat room that helps us coordinate these things. And by all means let's chat about what we'd like to pair on in the chat associated with the event. In the last session before Xmas it was all jasmine testing in rails, but we're all ears for what you'd like to work on next :-)

I'll post a google hangout link 5 minutes in advance of the event, and if you happen to be in London, England you can join us in person :-)

Note the UTC time is 6:30pm

    a couple of questions:
    - any ways to troubleshoot hangouts from pegging my processor?
    - is there a way to manually set to a higher bandwidth? Text was kind of blurry on other attendee screens...

Hey Daniel, great to have you with us. Hangouts video processing generally burns up CPUs. One thing most people do is turn off their video when they are not using it. I noticed you had yours on for most of the time. Upgrading chrome and your google talk plugin are good ideas, as well as just upgrading the hardware :-) See also - there is also a way to adjust the overall bandwidth usage that might help with blurryness - there is a section in the control panel, but you can't do so much to other people's bandwidth. Best bet with other people's screens being difficult to read is to ask them to increase font size, maximize the hangout window, clos e any hangout side bars, and do Crtl- or Cmd- to reduce the size of the html elements in the hangout, which ironically increases the amount of screen real estate devoted to the screenshare/video portion of the hangout :-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
