Sager pledges support to conservative agenda proposed by grassroots organizations.

Brooksville, FL, July 14, 2010 – Congressional candidate Jason Sager announced Tuesday evening that he has signed the Contract From America pledge. In signing this pledge, Jason commits to the core values of free market principles, limited government and individual liberty. The Contract From America differs from the 1994 Contract With America established by the Republican Party. It is a grassroots national movement that came from the people and was birthed in the TEA party and 9-12 movement. Thousands of freedom-loving individuals and organizations worked to form this movement and establish its platform. It is a culmination of citizen protests across the country who came together to voice their frustration and opposition to out-of-control spending, massive government growth, and an arrogant disregard for the will of the people.

Jason said, “I am honored to sign the Contract From America. The Contract was formed by the conservative movement to get our candidates on record in order to hold them into account for their future actions. Being the official 'TEA Party' Republican candidate in this race, it was a natural decision to sign on to the principles that we have been promoting for so many years. One of the biggest issues our contract lists is the need to abolish our current tax code and replace it instead of reforming it. Being a FairTax advocate, it gives me great pleasure to know that the FairTax organization is one of the founding partners for this historical document.”

In signing the Contract From America, Jason pledges to advocate for the 10 platform planks which call for protecting the Constitution; rejecting Cap & Trade, demanding a balanced budget, enacting fundamental tax reform; restoring fiscal responsibility and a Constitutionally limited government, stopping runaway government spending, defunding, repealing and replacing Government run health care, passing an “all-of-the above” energy policy, stopping pork and tax hikes.

Jason P. Sager is a candidate for United States Representative in the August 24th Republican Primary for Congressional District 5. He believes in limited government as defined in our Constitution and not as assigned by a political party. He is asking for the honor and privilege to be the voice of the people in Congress for Florida's Fifth Congressional District. He believes it's time that the people set the agenda, not the politicians..
