MTRAS Meetup - Robotics Event Opening

  • Feb 19, 2011 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Attention Robot Builders, Our next meeting will be February 19th which is the beginning of the Robotics Exhibits that will be on display until May. As we discussed during our last meetup the Adventure Science Center has once again asked us to setup a table with all of our robot goodies. This is the BEST time to show off all your latest and greatest. Bring whatever you got to show all the possible future bot builders out there. More details to come as we get them.

UPDATE: Mike is back in town and we got some work done over the weekend. We are nowhere near where we want to be but should have the mojority of the bot mock skinned, mock arms mounted, and mounted to the chassis. We will have it roaming the science center sat.

In the meantime keep building and we look forward to seeing you in Feb.

Newbies, gearheads & everyone in between are welcome. Most meetings are show and tell format but we always welcome anyone wanting to give a specific presentation. Let us know if you'd like to present!

Email MTRAS @ [masked] if you have any questions.

See ya'll there!

We had a great club turn-out with the Mech Warrior and other projects. We were all talking to visitors and showing projects all day long! We ran out of club cards and LED blinkies, so I would say it was a very good day!

Lots of fun. The Mech Warrior was a hit all day long and we learned a lot about how to set it up. I hope it fueled lots of members to want to help finish the project and add their own touch to it. Jack helped talk to kids and build LED throwies and as always Jessica was a great help in talking robots to all the kids. Kudos for Andrea operating the Mech for a good portion of the day, Great job! Steve's follow me is sparking lots of interest from kids especially when you tell them it could possible clean their room and take out the trash :-) .

Great for a public event. Not much learning, but lots of teaching, interest by a few in joining.
