HEY PALADIN! (Roland) HAVE KITE WILL TRAVEL?

Howdy Kite Flyin' Folks!

Gotta "ROUND UP" our POSSE and Head NORTH to where the WIND ALWAYS BLOWS!!!

Deborah Amend with the Wyoming Territorial Prison Museum invites us to Fly on their 200+ acre grounds as a main event at their "Butch Cassidy Days" kids day.

We are negotiating the details, I told her we normally volunteer our time for kite events, but they may be compensating us for gas, or whatever.

Laramie is only a couple hours away from Denver. This is the First of MANY MORE WYOMING TRIPS planned as Wyoming is Where the WIND WHIPS!!!!

I'm going to give them advise on which types of kids kites they should purchase to sell or give to the kids participating. I think they may be more interested in having the kids fly pre made kites than they would be in doing a Workshop.

Some of us may opt to CAMP for the weekend, as Jim Lundberg suggested. There is a campground nearby we can go to. This would also be Ideal if we do get some of the Utah Kitefliers and/or other Kiters to travel for this festival.

From Deborah, "Thank you for returning my phone call regarding the Rocky Mtn Kite Association working with us during our June 9, 2012 Butch Cassidy Festival. The event is open from 9am - 6pm. The evening, starting at 6pm, will have a dinner and then a show to finish out the day. So I am looking at your group performing during the day. What I am asking for is a Kite flying demonstration for the children and public that attend this Festival. Last year we had 600 people on Saturday enjoying a variety of activities from kids games to a car/tractor show and horse drawn wagon rides and more.
What I envision this year, is the air filled with stunt kite demonstrations, various other types of kites, giant show kites and open flying for the public with instruction by your club members. Also this is a chance for your organization to introduce people to the fun of kiteflying and the rich history of kites. If you can provide me with kite supplier info so I can purchase some kites either for resale or to give away to the kids I would like to look into that possibility. My budget is very small for this event so I could only pay some towards gas for your group to travel to Laramie and perform. Please let me know what your requirements for space, conditions (ok I know you need wind! haha), or anything else. Thank you for considering this opportunity.
