Announcing a new Meetup for A Mile High Kite Meetup, Rocky Mountain Kite Association!
What: 5th Annual OSOW fly at Stapleton
When: Sunday, October 14,[masked]:00 AM
Where: Stapleton Central Park
Martin Luther King and Beeler St
Denver, CO 80238
In 2008, the One Sky One World kite festival of Denver was moved from it's annual location at Sloans Lake to Stapleton. OSOW is an international kite day, where everyone is encouraged to fly a kite for world peace.
In 2010, OSOW and Into The Wind hosted John Barresi and Team iQuad to fly with us as the main event, One Sky One World also hosted kiter Alan Sparling from Chicago to fly giant kites at that 25th anniversary for OSOW.
This year, Jane Parker Ambrose and OSOW are having a Kids kite workshop at the Children's Museum in Denver. A Mile High Kite Club has decided to remain at Stapleton due to the lack of space to fly kites at Childrens Museum's to honor this annual worldwide tradition with a complete kite fly.
We have also been invited to assist with and fly at the Official OSOW event at the Children's Museum. Please contact Jane for details if interested.
As is the case every year, the Sandstone second Sunday is postponed in October for this OSOW fly.
Robin will provide weather and cancellation info at [masked], as this day is notorious every year for bad weather, rain, cold, Snow, and lack of wind. Also please join us at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/milehikite for updates from the field and decisions whether to fly or not, soccer, who's there, etc. We may also decide to relocate to Great Lawn Park in Lowry if there is soccer.
