Mike C,
The immigration issue is simple once you understand, and then are able to accept, the tenant that a free country can only have free borders.

However, we are not living in a truly free country. We are living in a country that is currently contolled by a tyrannical, socialist, out-of-control state administered by a government.  If Americans ever have a total paradigm shift and change their opinion as to what the role of government actually is, we can then get rid of the entrenched entitlement system that has created the welfare state that we currently live in.  Once the welfare state is gone, Americans can no longer cry that their "American Welfare" i is being stolen by "Mexican Immigrants".

Our country rose to greatness because of open borders and easy immigration not the other way around.  If we want to become a third world nation, the best way to do is to continue to spread tyranny and build more walls around our borders.

We seem to be on the right track.

Tragically, I will not be at Lamont & beach meetup, nor at Joyce Beers, having to attend a meeting up north over weekend. ({Politics, and it will cost me dearly)
I want to meet all of you.   I entreat you to discuss an immigration policy that is tailored to the unique needs of San Diego county, esp downtown/Barrio Logan/hillcrest/PB -- and fits the country's need.
As an outsider planning a run for US Congress office as an anti-war Democrat in a majority democratic district (CA-53)
(Yes, I'm a registered Democrat, and if you want to get into office, you have to choose a party -- the two party system is a farce, but it's the only farce we've got --  and I'm going to CHANGE the Democratic party from the inside out, after I am elected, so that you and I don' t have to suffer through these phoney establishment 'candidate' shills)
I enjoin all Ron Paulers and other libertarian minded folks to submit their ideas to on immigration -- a key area where incumbent Rep Susan Davis earns a D-/F, but Rep Ron Paul gets an A-.
Immigration is a hot hot topic for 50% +  voters i have talked to.   I wish they wanted to talk about the Iraq war, or the Constitution, but the person-in-the-street seems to be fixated on immigration .
I'll have to wait til next meetup. Til then, Abby, Laura, Dane, Kevin, and the rest, be well and have a good one.
