Where are you in your journey with Ruby/Rails? (Introductions help us connect with those who may have similar interests, goals, skillsets)

I'm fairly new. Recently finished a PhD. For the past 3 or so months I've been playing around with codecademy, a few intro-to-programming books, etc. Finished the railstotorial.org book, and now I'm working on modifying that app to serve a different function.

What are your goals with Ruby or Rails?

I've got a web app I'd like to build for fun, but also as a sort of portfolio project. Eventually I'd like to make my living doing this.

When you are ready, please let us know how you would like to contribute? (This helps us know what resources are available)

What resources do you need? As of now I've got some time & enthusiasm to contribute, but not much by way of skill-sets.

While we have regular meetings, when/if are you available for study groups, additional learning or teaching?(This helps subgroups form with in the main group)

Friday-Monday (inclusive).

Introduction

New to programming.
