Purpose

Developers who are learning a new programming language or working toward mastery of their preferred language often have a variety of resources available to them. Online tutorials, formal training, conferences, and other events provide ample opportunity to pick up valuable skills, but don’t often provide enough hands-on experience to enhance learning.

Hack Night is a chance for developers to share experiences and enhance their skills through collaborative participation. We facilitate interaction and learning through discovering similar interests and pair-programming between attendees.

Attendees

If you’re a technical, hands-on developer who wants to hack on code while collaborating with other developers, then join us. We don’t judge based on skill level; this is a place to learn and be passionate about technology. Please bring a laptop and a project on which you’d like to work.

While most of us are Ruby enthusiasts, you are welcome to hack on whatever language you want.

If you’re a company looking to hire Ruby developers, then please explore the many other local groups that welcome recruiters; Ruby HackNight is not among them.
