Go seems to have gotten the attention of many Rubyists with its simplicity and opinionated choice of features for a programming language. This month Ciaran Archer (https://twitter.com/ciaranarcher) from Zendesk (http://www.zendesk.com) will talk about how they are using Go with Ruby in Zendesk to build out their new voice architecture.
First Ciaran will outline the problem Zendesk is trying to solve, why they went with Go and how it interfaces with their Rails app - along with some trusty code samples.
So as the days get shorter, let your knowledge of Go and Ruby grow stronger and check out how they can peacefully co-exist to deliver a superb polyglot solution.
This month we have a new sponsor in the shape of Qstream (http://qstream.com), who are generously sponsoring the pizza for Ruby Ireland. Thanks a mill guys! And, as ever, a big thanks to Engine Yard (http://engineyard.com) for hosting us.
