Finding Concurrency Problems in Core Ruby Libraries by Louis Dunne - During the development of an internal deployment tool we hit the type of problem we all dread – a deadlock triggered in a core Ruby module. This talk will cover how this specific bug was identified, some general advice on how to find these kinds of issues and what Ruby could learn from other languages in this area.
*** NB: We need both your first and last names when you RSVP (because Workday will print out security badges). If your meetup profile doesn't contain both your first and last names then add your full name to this list http://bit.ly/1NFrErb ***
Please get in touch if you'd like to do a talk in the second slot, a lightening talk or a shoutout.
Note: Doors open at 6pm. Meetup officially starts at 6:30pm.
Thanks to Workday (https://twitter.com/Workday) for hosting us, along with sponsoring food and drinks.
And also thanks to JetBrains (http://www.jetbrains.com/) for the RubyMine IDE licence prizes.
