Our aim is to promote running for as wide a range of ability as possible, encourage new people to start running and support each other to improve or just to enjoy running together. I am looking for input how to organise this. But the beauty of the meetup system is that it can change to fit what people want
I will start of with a couple of regular scheduled meetups, but if you can't make those days or locations just say and we can add more (it would be great to get a couple of assistant organisers to share the load)! We can also mix it up and run from different locations and maybe aim for some races.
But I think the way this is going to work best is if you don't think of it as a running club but more as a way of meeting other runners and arranging runs together. This can be done either by becoming an assistant organiser, by emailing a suggestion to an organiser or by emailing the group. "Organising" a run is not an onerous task. Just pick a time, a place and a route and that's all you need.
Contributions:
The site costs $15 a month. What I am going to suggest is that people can come along and try it out for 2 or 3 times to see if this suits them and then I would like $5. I will keep a total of how much I have received and how I have paid and publish that. Then if the money runs out I will come back to ask existing members for another contribution. I would expect that $5 each will pay for the site for well over a year.
