Who should sign up?The HOOP CURIOUS: If you're not sure about what Hoop Dance is all about, but you're curious and want to learn more, this class is perfect for you.
The NEWBIE: If you hooped as a child, or recently picked up the hoop and are looking to integrate "dance" and new transitional movements.
If you're looking for something new, fun, healthy, both physically and mentally, then allow FireFly guide help you along your Hoop Dance Journey. FireFly's strengths are with the "Newbie" and the with building strong and loving Hoop Dance relationships and communities. The high energy in FireFly's classes is infectious, prepare to be addicted to Hoop Dance!!!
What will we cover in 6 weeks?
We start with the basics of hoop dance: core hooping, rhythmic control, freeing the feet, stalling, floating, lifting, breaking, reversing, shoulder and chest hooping as well as many other hoopie movements that can be woven into your personal creative flow.
Hoop tricks will be introduced weekly with emphasis on how to work them in and out of your flow of motion. Student feedback will be encouraged and “home work” will be given….don’t worry, it’s the fun kind of homework. In fact, everything about this class is FUN!
Hoop Dance Graduation
On the 6th week, we will have a graduation ceremony where friends and family can come and watch you FIRE HOOP!

Stacey "FireFly" discovered Hoop Dance through her experience in fire arts in 2006. FireFly was driven to create a hooping community in 2007, began teaching classes in 2008, and in 2010, formed RVA HoOp HOuse, a community-driven hoop-focused non-profit organization, supported by Hoop Dance volunteers, the RVA HoOp LOvers. FireFly is a passionate pioneer who's vision includes providing her Richmond, Virginia community with healthy, active, creative, fun choices to achieve wellness, happiness, and peace. Since the first time she picked up the hoop, she felt it was her mission to share "Hoop Love" with everyone she came in contact with. From energetic and uplifting, to calm and meditative, FireFly will guide you through the process, and welcome you into the RVA Hooping Community.
