Please join with the RVC Tea Party in the annual RVC Memorial Day Parade.
We participate in this event to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to guarantee our freedom.

Due to continued construction on our usual parade route, the parade route has been changed. This year we will all meet at 9 AM in the rear parking lot of South Side High School, and will march up Long Beach Road to the Recreation Center. Click here for parade route details:

As usual, we assemble at 9:00 AM, and expect to start marching by 10:00 AM.

The Parade and services are solemn rituals, so no signs or political references are allowed during the event. There will also be a memorial service at the end of the parade route, right in front of the RVC Recreation center. Our group will lay a wreath there to honor our brave men and women.

After the parade and services our contingent and their families are invited back to the American Legion Post at 197 Maple Avenue for refreshments and fun.
Tea Party members are encouraged to bring their children with them to participate in the march, and allow them to witness how true Americans show our respect and admiration for our heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for our freedoms.
Wear patriotic colors, or your RVC Tea Party shirts and hats. Come by yourself, or bring your family and your fiends. Don't forget to bring your flags. If you don’t own a flag we will loan you one. We expect to have enough flags on hand for anyone who does not bring one with them.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
Let’s make this one of our biggest events ever!

I hope that most of those who could not join us for the parade in RVC appropriately observed the meaning of Memorial Day somewhere else in some other way.

In case you thought it was NATIONAL BBQ day think again.
I was honored to place a reef for our fallen Hero's representing RVC yesterday. We will never forget.

It was my honor to have you join with us in the parade and place that wreath. As a veteran you certainly earned that right.

It's unfortunate that that 99% of RVC Tea Party members felt that this parade was less important than sleeping late or going to the beach. All I requested from our 2000+ membership was three stinking hours to show respect for the hundreds of thousands American men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms that we show no appreciation for, and take for granted today. As an Organizer I am disappointed and ashamed of the pathetic turnout of marchers (and onlookers for that matter). Just THREE HOURS, was that asking so much?? My thanks to the 24 members that set aside the time to march with us in the parade, and to our veterans Joe Barbaro and Richard Stamile who laid our RVC Tea Party wreath at the Veterans Memorial ceremony.
