MEETING LOGISTICS
We have small group meetups once a month at Capsity. Any member can arrange to present a topic in other areas of the Sacramento region; we have a lot of members in the Roseville area. We often meet at a Panera Bread or a Denny's.
We also hold larger events and educational classes at various times throughout the year. Larger events are in a central location and we give plenty of notice.
Typical Small Group Schedule
We generally start at 7:00pm with a round of introductions and any news, announcements, or special topics that may be up for discussion. Main topics will follow (in no particular order) followed by an open discussion. We generally wrap up by 8:30pm. Bring your questions for the group or any ideas you want to share. The start time is not a "be there or else" time, and late arrivals are better than not arriving at all.
Fees and Dues
There are no fees or dues for the small group meetups. Capsity provides water and keeps some snacks on hand which are paid for by an honor system. Some large events or educational offerings have a small fee to help cover the cost of the location, the speaker, or to help fund the group presence on Meetup.com.
Group Speaker Guidelines
We welcome business and technical topic speakers of all experience levels. Speakers should have their own equipment and are asked to provide the following information for their presentation at least two weeks prior to their speaking date:
- Presentation Title
- Synopsis: at least 50 words describing your program, and why it is valuable to our members
- Bio: at least 50 words describing your qualifications, history and interests.
