Spanish Video

In this message is a link to a really COOL video produced by two guys that are spending one year to learn 4 languages, one language every 3 months.  Their plan is to do COMPLETE immersion and not use English whatsoever.  Granted,  they will be living in a country where the language they are learning is spoken, but even so their progress from zero to conversational proficiency is quite impressive.  And oh, the first language they started with is Spanish, which is shown in the video.
There are at least two conclusions I have drawn from this:
1. Anyone can get to conversational Spanish in a short period of time if you really dedicate yourself.
2. Total immersion is the key. This point is backed up by the Journal of Second Language Acquisition which does scientific research on the topic, and recent articles in that journal state that if you started learning a second language after age 12 (which is what most of us have done), then TOTAL IMMERSION is critical.  So when you go to Tuesday night Spanish group, or if you find native Spanish speakers to speak with on Skype, or when you are in Spanish class, or wherever else you are learning Spanish, DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH!
Here is a link to the video -- enjoy!
