The Core Basic (Primitive) Course is a very thorough curriculum that is vital to master and understand in order to be able to fend for oneself, in a wilderness or rural setting, under a wide variety of circumstances.

The Human Path Core Basic (Primitive) is a prerequisite to a huge number of other classes, such as wilderness and urban-escape treks and advanced, specialized classes (level 1, 2, 3 and beyond).

By learning and testing these skills in the Core Basic-(Primitive) you will know them well enough to be able to use them in higher-stress environments such as the wilderness and urban-escape treks, advanced classes. This is the foundation, the groundwork, and these classes are about 75% hands-on learning. If you attend these, you will have a solid working knowledge of the skills we're teaching. A list of all the subjects is at the bottom of this description.

I am offering the Core Basic (Primitive) Curriculum (~50 hours covering primitive living skills, self defense, tactics, awareness and much more) in two (Part 1 and Part 2) weekend intensives.

Each class costs $350.00 which includes all the meals. A $200.00, non-refundable deposit is required on registration to hold your spot and pay for your meals.

The remainder is due by about a week prior to the class. Email me if you need to make other arrangements. After we receive your deposit, we will contact you via email with an update on whatever balance remains. You can also mail in the deposit or full tuition.

Each weekend intensive will be 3 days long and cover about 25 hours of teaching.

Students should preferably show up on Thursday night and set up camp so that we are ready to go Friday morning. Alternatively, students can show up no later than 8:00 am on Friday morning. The classes will run about 10 hours Friday, 11 hours Saturday and 5+ hours on Sunday. The Core Basic (Primitive) Course is designed to give a good set of fundamental skills across a number of vital subjects that would be encountered in wilderness and complete disaster survival situations.

Camping space will be provided. Camping at the site (in a tent, tarp or hammock) is required as a part of this intensive. No car camping allowed.

Equipment: In general, you will need to bring appropriate clothing a sleeping bag/tent or hammock, a fixed-blade (or very sturdy lock-blade) knife, a mess kit and some containers (canteen, camel pack, etc) to hold drinking water, and some type of day-pack or large fanny-pack to be able to carry one meal and water into the field, and a backpack to carry everything in.

However, a more detailed packing list will be sent out within a few weeks of the course. You should be able to carry all the gear on your back - as though it is a 3-day backpacking trip, without having to worry about food and water. If there are any flooding-access issues (highly unlikely but possible), we have a secure spot to park and walk in from the neighboring property.

ALL MEALS AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED, STARTING WITH BREAKFAST ON FRIDAY AND ENDING WITH LUNCH ON SUNDAY.

We will also have some snacks out for folks that are coming in on Thursday Night and camping. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. ===========================================
