Post Disaster Escape and Evasion Part 1 - The Decision and Bugout

Details

This Part 1 (of 2 parts) class will take you on a journey through the world of urban escape and evasion from the stressful decision point of having to get out of your existing location (home, office, etc.), through the preparation, route planning, equipment and gear packing and departure.

Part 2 (a separate 1-day class) will then step you from departure through the actual bug out of an urban area by several options: On foot, bicycle, car, motorbike and even boat.

=======================================

Tuition: $50 in advance or $65 at the start of the class.

Take the full weekend (January 17/18th) for $100 or $130 at the start of the class.

=======================================

If there is social collapse due to natural disaster, economic instability, civil unrest or any other myriad of potential triggers, how do you make the decision to bug out and get to a safer environment? Whether from home to a bug-out location or relative’s house, or from office, school or public location to home, or even having to leave your car and travel on foot to home or some other safer location, this class will prepare you to handle even the worst case scenarios.

Just as importantly, once you have made the decision, what preparation will serve you best in getting yourself and your loved ones out of the danger of the immediate area?

In this 1-day class, Sam will cover topics such as:

· Setting your own personal stages of alert: What are your “decision triggers,” and how do you prepare to be able to scale up or down easily using them?

· The “radius” drill in your own neighborhood (we will run a short, hands-on exercise as a class on this). This is essential to planning an effective escape route.

· Route planning and how to coordinate these routes along with your own stages of alert

· Introduction to communications

· Family rally-point planning

· Gear and Gear Packing – on foot, bicycle, car and boat

· Top 12 items every urban bugout bag should have

· Introduction to moving as a group or team through urban and remote areas

====================================

Follow up this class the next day (camp overnight or come back the next day) with Dennis Fivecoat’s firearms introduction class part 1 (https://www.meetup.com/san-antonio-wilderness-living-and-survival/events/178401332/) (discount available if you register for both). If you have not yet had the privilege of taking a shooting and firearms class with Dennis, I highly recommend it. He is a superb instructor and will be covering the basics of selecting, maintaining and using pistols, rifles and shotguns, ballistics, optics, etc., with lots of hands-on and a good chance to experience the breaking down and handling of a number of various firearms.
