Author and scientist Ajit Varki will be dsicussing his new book Denial: Self-Deception, False Beliefs, and the Origins of the Human Mind at Warwick's. (More information about the book below.) Is our capacity to self-deceive an evolutionary advantage? What does this mean for Enlightenment values? I've had him as a lecturer in class so I can vouch for extreme interestingness!
If you can stay, we can retire to the Living Room for coffee, or Karl Strauss for a beer, depending on what the group would like. Do note, parking in La Jolla can be difficult so give yourself time!
