FREE Play This Weekend - The Cancer Play at the Lyceum Theatre

Hello Theatre Lovers,

I had a great time last night at The Old Globe. If you like comedy, especially dark comedy and you like well produced musicals, go see, "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" at The Old Globe. It was well produced, directed and acted and an all around fun time!

On a more serious note, this weekend we have been invited to "The Cancer Play" at the Lyceum Theatre. It is not an official meetup, but you and everyone you know is invited. It is free, but you need to call for reservations. It's tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. If you go, let me know how it is.

Below is information I was given from the person that invited us.

"The Cancer Play" is an innovative, research-based drama made from real-life conversations geared toward helping people to understand how a family manages the cancer journey.

The play is being funded by the National Cancer Institute and promoted by San Diego State University and PBS. There is a special 2 PM on April 14th. This is a special showing which provides cancer patients, survivors and family members of cancer patients with $50 compensation. Call them for detail on that, as they were recruiting for it. Everyone is invited to any of the performances, however.

The show is free and really phenomenal! Viewers can provide vital feedback for developing this play into educational materials to help cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers in the future.

Here is the link to additional information about the play, and free showings for the general public at 7:30 on April 12th and 13th and now it has been extended to the 2:00 pm show on the 14th: You can also find us on Facebook by searching for The Cancer Play.

Don't forget to call for reservations!

Take care and have a great weekend all!
