Nebraska @ Hillcrest - Saturday 12/7 -7:15pm

Award winning writer/director Alexander Payne directs Nebraska, a bittersweet dramatic comedy about a father-and-son road trip through an emotionally and economically parched homeland. After receiving a sweepstakes letter in the mail, a cantankerous father (Bruce Dern) thinks he's struck it rich, and wrangles his son (Will Forte) into taking a road trip to claim the fortune. Shot in black and white across four states, Nebraska tells the stories of family life in the heartland of America.

Great film! Outstanding acting, well-written script, excellent cinematography. Quiet film, Perfect blend of the poignant combined with moments of humor. I enjoyed meeting everyone who attended.

I think Will Forte and June Squibb worked in their roles well, and Bruce Dern had his mannerisms and delivery spot on, but the character written just engenders the pity of the audience and nothing more. The movie about aging from the summer "Still Mine" was just substantially better than Nebraska tonight. Thank you Nora for organizing, and to our good crowd attending. I apologize that we lost track of you Norm after our entering the theater, but it was good meeting you beforehand.

Enjoy! My group went last week and it was fantastic! Bruce Dern definitely deserved his Cannes win for Best Actor. I've already seen it twice now and I'll be heading to a third time, soon. ;)

Is there a meeting place before or after the Nebraska Saturday movie? Sorry, I'm new so I don't know the ropes yet.

Hi Norm, buy your ticket and proceed to the theater where the movie will be screened. I will meet you there at 7:15. As a group we can decide where to go after the movie. Steve had 2 yummy suggestions

Two places which might work for after gatherings are "Chocolat" Fifth and University, or Babycakes a couple blocks south beyond Robinson.

I do want to point out Christmas on the Prado (okay December Nights if I must be PC) will likely cause some impact to a couple of approaches up to Hillcrest.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
