Idealism with a green problem solving is alive in Santa Cruz. The Ideass group was good to hear about! Is Santa Cruz going to get some more start-ups going here?

Great meetup! It is always encouraging seeing young people so passionate about great causes.

This is a great group! I liked the informal focus on bringing tech work to santa cruz. The talks were a little less technical than I hoped for (may be unavoidable given the brevity,) but very interesting.

Excellent -- kudos to Doug and the rest of your team volunteers. One thing I would recommending turning on the overhead lights over the presenters so that we could see their faces better!

Terrific hosting from Doug, Lydia and Sara, great presentations from Abe Smith of Badgeville and Ron Barr of Life Correlations, and mind-stretching ideas from the IDEASS students, outstanding researchers and thinkers! And insightful feedback from the mentors for them...and for all of us...on their ideas.

Doug and Lydia, I thought I would make it with my crew but we are wiped out from last nights event in Aptos. Please give up our 3 spots. Sorry for the late reply. Have a great event.

How (when & where) do you sign up to make an announcement during the open mic segment tomorrow night?

    1 · April 1, 2014

    • Doug E.

The Open Mic segment is at the tail-end of the evening. No need to sign up. It is open to anyone who has an announcement that might interests our members. 30-seconds per announcement.

The wait list for the April 2 event is growing. If you have RSVP'd yes and now find you will be unable to attend, please change your reply to let someone else have your coveted spot. Thanks!

Wayy too crowded last time. Need a bigger space.

    March 14, 2014

    • Doug E.

Matthew - for the April event, we are working on a new layout to improve networking, and to decrease the crowding. We look forward to your feedback after the April event. For May, we will be in the Del Mar Theater which can hold 500 people

I agree about the crowd. It was tough to find anywhere to stand where you weren't in peoples' path as they tried to make their way around.

Also, I personally could have done with 15 minutes of the acapella group and a much longer allotment to the student presentations. 3 minutes to each group was a bit disparaging.
