Behavioral Programming (BP) is an innovative programming paradigm developed at the Weizmann Institute for Science. The idea behind BP is to construct complex programs from several coordinated behavioral threads. Using these threads, program is divided into modules according to its desired (and undesired) behaviors. The classic example is a tic-tac-toe game: some threads take care of the game rules, others at defensive or offensive strategies, and some at interacting with the environments. Each thread is comparatively short and well-encapsulated. The resulting code from this method surprisingly concise and elegant. Currently, there are libraries for BP in Java and Erlang. In this meeting we will present BP and the oncoming development in this field. The meeting will take place during December. Exact time and place still tentative.
