Roland Kuhn leads a Q&A and live coding session

Dr. Roland Kuhn, of Typesafe, has offered to run a Q&A and live coding session for PHASE; he'll be in town for PhillyETE, so it's the perfect time. (And if there aren't enough questions, he says he has a Reactive workshop he can run instead.)

Roland leads the Akka project at Typesafe; he's a co-author of the Reactive Manifesto; he co-teaches the Coursera course “Principles of Reactive Programming”; and he's a "passionate open-source hakker". He also holds a Dr. rer. nat. in particle physics from TU München and worked in the space industry for several years.

He's also great company over a few beers.

This meeting, and the accompanying refreshments, are sponsored by (and hosted at) Curalate.

Excellent presentation. Roland was able to bring a real presence to Reactive Akka, and its future.

    Great Presentation Roland.
I just created a scalable machine learning meetup. It will focus on machine learning tools like but not limited to Mahout and Spark. Please offer to attend or speak or make suggestions. Philly Scalable Machine Learning

Thanks to Roland for taking the time to stop by and do his ETE talks all over again; it's always great fun when the audience can interrupt the speaker with virtual impunity. I'm ready to dig into reactive streams now...

Thanks to Nick and Curalate for hosting the event, for buying the pizza, and for supplying the drinks (including the PBR). You guys have a neat space; we'd be happy to come abuse your hospitality again.

Curalate is at 24th and Walnut, but the entrance just southwest of 24th and Sansom. There's a parking lot behind the building, and the entrance is just south of the parking lot. You can't miss it.

If you're driving, you can park behind the building, for about $5 (I think). There's also parking at 22nd and Walnut; it's an easy walk from there.
