March High Scalability Meetup: Amazon DynamoDB

Vaibhav Puranik of GumGum will speak about Amazon DynamoDB. Rough agenda:

1) What is DynamoDB?

2) Data and Query model

3) Pricing

4) Limitations and our experiences

About the Speaker:

Vaibhav has been working as a software engineer since 2001. He was one of the first three employees at GumGum and has been there the past 3.5 years.  He's mainly responsible for working with HBase, writing Map Reduce jobs and other data pipeline related tasks.

Parking and Directions:

We're in the Gateway West building, next to the Westfield Century City mall on the east side. It's the only building with big red "Westfield" signs on top.

I recommend you park at the mall. You get 3 hours free at the mall, and our building is a short easy walk: Exit from the mall parking garage up to ground level, head east, pass the Lens Crafters, and you'll be able to enter the west side of 1801. Then just hit the elevators to go all the way up to floor 14, and we're in Suite 1450.

In a pinch, if you park in the parking garage for Gateway West, I may be able to score you parking validation. However, I cannot promise it and therefore prefer you use the mall parking.

Yes, that was a most unfortunate timing of the two meetings, considering. I hated making a choice. That said, it was a great presentation.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
