I, your organizer, completely failed to organize the May dinner meeting, on account of getting a second job (so now I belong to two corporations, as well as a freelance client) and suffering stress-induced brain-to-jello syndrome. I apologize for falling down on the job here--but as this is one of those jobs that does not actually pay anything, the jobs that support me come first. This is why there haven't been any emails announcing stuff for a while, and why many events on the calendar still show a location of "TBD".
I need help. The last time I failed to pull one of our meetings together, I posted asking for volunteers to assist with running this group. I got one answer. From someone who hadn't any more extra time or energy than I did.
Does anyone want to volunteer as Assistant Organizer, to help me research upcoming events, update the calendar, send out announcements, and post flyers promoting the group at bookstores and coffee-houses?
FYI, I will absolutely not fail to organize the July 1 Giant Book Swap at Mountain Mike's Pizza
. It will be a fund-raiser for local science fiction convention Conjecture. Bring the books that won't fit on your shelves...and take home other people's overflow books, so you still have a storage problem, but now with books you haven't read yet. There will be seven file boxes of SF, fantasy and horror books left over from the Conjecture garage sale in March, all looking for a new home.
