Friday afternoon / evening Scrabble on the waterfront in Stanley

This Scrabble session is coordinated with an easy hike over from Braemar Hill with the Hong Kong Hikers (http://hongkonghikers.org/item/378687), so join either or both, as you wish.

The waterfront in Stanley is a great place for an afternoon and/or evening of scrabbling, and partaking of the simple but excellent fare at Cafe Groucho's. It offers excellent value on Belgian beers, burgers (including veggie burgers), hot dogs, sandwiches, waffles, shakes & smoothies, and the hospitality of Dixon the owner.

I've set the meetup time at 2:15pm because that's about when the people on the hike will be arriving, but I expect people to be there well into the evening (on previous occasions the last tables broke up between midnight and 2am!) so feel free to arrive whenever you can (maybe call/text first to check if it's after, say, 7pm).

If you don't fancy the hike then there are buses to Stanley from Central, Causeway Bay, North Point and TST, and on previous occasions people pooled together to get taxis over (about HK$100 from Central, less from Admiralty/Wanchai); drink 3 drinks or eat some food at Groucho's prices and you've covered the cost of a taxi vs drinking in Central, and you had the pleasure of sitting out on the beautiful Stanley waterfront promenade playing Scrabble.

Obviously this is an outdoor venue, with "beer umbrellas" the only protection from the elements. Please dress accordingly, and bring whatever you need to keep warm!
