Galapagos, Cozumel and California, from SLR to Cell Phone...to iPad?

Current NCUPS club President and Founder of ReefID.org, John Fifer, will be presenting images and video he has shot using various types of equipment. Images from the Galapagos, Cozumel and our own backyard will highlight this equipment and will end with a discussion on his new primary device... a cell phone.

John has been experimenting and collaborating with various housing manufactures for cell phones and tablets and has lots to share about their dive industry potential. From their ability to take underwater images and immediately share them through social media, to their contributions to the scientific community, personal devices are making a splash in the dive industry.

John was an Oceanography major at Humboldt State University where he obtained his research certification from NAUI. He has been diving for over 20 years and is passionate about sharing our underwater world with others through his company ReefID. ReefID utilizes crowd sourced images to help people identify and share what they see.
