How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

I've been knitting since college. These days I'm doing a lot of lace knitting and socks - with some recent forays into baby and toddler knitting!

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I knit a lot of socks, some lightweight tops and shrugs, a few baby items (jackets, hats, stuffed animals). Even a few scarves and shawls. I keep a lot of my things, but I give some of them away.

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

A friend taught me how to knit when I was in college. A year or two later, I moved to California and didn't knit for a couple of years - until I discovered an amazing yarn shop on a visit to Nova Scotia, and couldn't resist the lace scarf kit they had on display. I had to re-teach myself how to knit, but I've never looked back.

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

I've never done any colorwork. Perhaps I'll give it a try sometime - but it seems there's always another lace pattern that jumps to the top of the queue. Dyeing yarn also sounds like fun!

I'm a full-time mom who loves to knit - when I have time.
