Only really been doing it for a few months. I prefer texture work to color work, Aran as opposed to Fair Isle. Like lacy things, but not fine gauge.
Mostly scarves so far, but just completed my first sweater, which was a top-down, in which I started with a pattern, which I altered the heck out of.
Learned from my mother, had a great aunt who had lace patterns published. Re-caught the bug recently when I wanted something to do, and wanted to create things I would want to wear.
Right now I'm open. I'd love to find out more about fibers, particularly ones that are easy care, soft on my hands, and preferably blockable.
56 year old suburban housewife, married, 13 year old son. I'm kind of a dilettante. I really get into something for a while, then lose interest for a while.
Very nice! I felt welcomed, even though I'm definitely out of my league with those ladies! I'm still a newbie, but no one held it against me. I got lots of good advice, and oodles of inspiration. Thank you all!
