We were expecting to have an event this month, but we weren't able to secure a speaker for this month, but we are planning to be back in session next month. I will announce the details of the event when they get more solidified. Appreciate your patience!
On a side a note, a few other things:
1) This past week, I've been approached by more-than one person who has open employment positions that they would like to promote. As we aren't having an event, and I'd like to help do whatever I can to connect employers with San Diego talent, I thought that one good way to do that was to create a Google group just for SD-GTUG. However, I don't want this group to just be for posting job positions. If you have questions about Android, post them there and I'll try to answer as many as I can as quickly as I can. As for other Google technologies, such as AppEngine, Google APIs, etc, post your questions and I ask the other members to answer where you can. This should be an organic group where we help each other! :) The group can be found here:
Right now the group itself is a bit ugly, but I figured I can pretty it up this weekend and it was more important to get it out there so we can start collaborating.
2) For anyone interested in getting a little more hands on with mobile development, although not restricted to Android, San Diego Mobile is having an event on Thursday to informally chit chat about several mobile topics. I'm not sure how late it will run, but if the doors are still open around 8:00 I might be able to stop in after work. If not, I'll definitely attend next month as I am a big mobile nerd. Details for the event can be found here:
As always, I hope to hear your feedback so that together we can make this group into something you're proud to be associated with. I'd actually like to consider scheduling some hackathons, or other code-intensive events that would supplement the speakers we are lining up, but I want to make sure the topics are relevant to what you're working on. So, please do let me know.
Looking forward to seeing you all
