Appzooz is a powerful new mobile app search engine under development to help more users find exactly what they are looking for, to help developers effectively reach more target audiences and to do more productive market research.Robert will demonstrate the key features of Appzooz - then invite us to participate in the beta testing.

Appzooz co-developer David Cottee (in Canada) spent most of his career as a database systems designer/programmer for two of the world's leading online legal database companies.Robert (here in San Diego) has worked as an administrative analyst for the City of San Diego, as a systems analyst for SDDPC (in its glory days), and in several roles for UCSD (webmaster, database design, and operations supervisor).Together David and Robert are now working to make Appzooz the premier global marketing tool for mobile apps.

Our second presentation will be Mark Salata Ph.D. ( http://WerkzPublishing.com ) presentingScienceWerkz - Developing Engaging Interactive Education eBook Apps.

Mark is a science educator, an artist, and an avid technology user.He seeks to transform the classroom environment through technology so that it returns to a more meaningful experience that is in balance with what researchers know is best for learning. Werkz Publishing is focused on developing, for lack of a category, interactive science ebook apps to that end.

Textbook, R.I.P. We are at a transition between hardcopy textbooks and digital replacements.A review of the kinds of digital replacement will be discussed in terms of what is known to be best for student learning and how they may, or may not, change the learning environment.Design for learning and an educator's perspective on app development will be shared.Different techniques for developing these apps will also be discussed.

Come early - bring your friends - get involved - and have fun sharing and learning about the exciting and potentially rewarding world of iOS app development.

Whether you are a professional, hobbyist, beginner or just curious - all are welcome at SDiOS!
