Meet at main entrance at 1:00. I look like my photo with a bright yellow scarf. Museums always present a challenge in staying together as a group, so flexibility is key. We’ll meet again at the museum café at 3:00. If anyone wants to carpool, let me know - I’m open as long as I know you.

LeMay Car Museum spotlights America’s love affair with the automobile. Featuring a nine-acre campus – with a four-story museum as the centerpiece – situated atop Tacoma, 30 minutes south of Seattle and in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, is one of the world’s largest auto museums.

LeMay is designed to preserve history and celebrate the world’s automotive culture. The spacious facility houses up to 350 cars, trucks and motorcycles from private owners, corporations and the LeMay collection, which amassed a Guinness Book record of more than 3,500 vehicles in the mid-‘90s.

“Everybody remembers their first car, family driving vacations, a sports car they fell in love with as a teenager,” says CEO David Madeira. “Personal experiences with cars are at the heart of the American experience, and we’re going to showcase more than a century of automotive lifestyle and history as well as the future of transportation.”

Teresa that Emblem on the 33 Mercedes was legit. Found out the three pointed star represents the Company's domination of land, sea, air (Nerd alert). It was first seen on a Daimler in 1909, and was combined with the Benz laurel wreath in 1926 to signify the union of the two firms. Had a great time today. Great people!

I'm still in Car Heaven!!! What an incredible collection! Some highlights: The Tucker, as Ken said, worth the trip alone. The '33 Mercedes, voted creme de la creme by some of us. The optical illusion of a slanted floor in the main showroom, created by the structure of the building itself. Thank you everyone who showed up - what a great day! Will post photos soon.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
