About Seattle Writers' Study Hall

Seattle Writers' Study Hall was founded by Heather, who was looking to combine working on her novel with something SOCIAL. She envisioned a room full of writers going nuts on their laptops, everyone furiously typing.

But like the process of writing itself, her dream didn't materialize -- instead she got something better.

Transportation in our fair city is imperfect and it can take a long time to get from place to place. When folks suggested more, smaller Study Hall meetings, Heather thought -- wow, less time driving, riding and parking... and more time writing! Yeah!

We now have three weekly Study Halls: one in Ballard Sunday at noon; one in South Lake Union Wednesday at 7 p.m.; and one in Wallingford at 11 Tuesday morning. Ballard's the quietest, then Wallingford, and there's always music and people-watching between paragraphs Wed. evening.
