Artluck: Art Critique and Potluck

We are redefining a Kirkland Art Center tradition: Artluck: Art Critique and Potluck. You don’t have to be an artist to enjoy this social.  You can expect a new take on critiquing art.

(We are skipping June because I am out-of-town.)

Everyone: Bring your favorite dish, side, or dessert. We have limited use of a kitchen. Artists: Also bring 1-2 of your most recent works. Each artist should plan on being allotted 6 minutes (including a suggested 2-minute talk about what you are showing). Discussion outside of the 6 minutes (after everyone has had their turn) is highly encouraged. We’ll have beverages and food. Connect! Mingle!

*******

Artists: Do you have something that you are working on and you want some advice or feedback from other artists and art lovers? ...or do you have a finished piece and you want to have it critiqued by an audience?

Art Lovers: Do you wonder about the technical process of how an art piece comes together? Have you ever taken part in an art critique? It's very interesting. I think it will give you a new perspective on art.

Sound good? Anything you'd like to add?

No worries. We'll meet when you're ready. We're not sticklers on the food. Most times we're blessed to have too much anyway.

Showed some of my work at the critique last night and realized that I want to make more than I'm making. It took a lot of courage to show people what I'm thinking about. I was blessed with a lot of support. I am grateful for that. Thank you, Nan, Jennifer, and Valerie. I can't wait for the next time!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
