Sponsoring SeattleJS

Hey SeattleJS,

This past weekend, our little meetup passed the 1000 member mark. That is really remarkable and is a testament to the community that Dan Dean, Tony Bentley and others have pulled together over the years here in Seattle. This is really awesome.

I thought I'd drop you all a quick note to talk about one way we can keep the momentum up and make organizing awesome events easier: sponsorships. You can't have a great event without awesome content and good people, but sponsors enable us to:
  • Secure better venues
  • Pay for food and drink
  • Provide benefits to our members
Example: Twilio

Twilio (the company I work for) has been a sponsor of several SeattleJS meetups and has been a big supporter of the JS community here in Seattle. Twilio is a fun tool for JS developers to play with: we have a Node.js library for server-side application and a WebRTC VOIP library for browser apps.

I worked with the team down in SF and I'd like to announce a cool perk for SeattleJS members:

$10 of free credit when you upgrade your account.

Just create a Twilio account and upgrade it. Shoot me an email and I'll load the additional credit into the account. That's it!

Become a Sponsor

If you work for a technology company that is interested in sponsoring SeattleJS (either by sponsoring our events or providing useful perks for developers) please let me know. We have a couple of upcoming meetups that we could definitely use sponsors for:
  • 8/14 - Learning jQuery
  • 9/18 - SeattleJS September
Ok, that's it from me. Look forward to seeing you all soon!
