Kangaroo Farm Run 2014
Details
Done this ride a couple of times with the group - great roads and fun to play with the roos. Who knows, might make this a yearly co-ed ride since the Lady Riders (https://www.meetup.com/WWLadyRiders) does this for the annual International Female Ride Day in May. ~Claudette
Arrive by 9:15am, gassed up and ready to go and in time for the pre-ride spiel. Leaving exactly at 9:30m so we arrive at the tour on time. If you'd like to meet along the way, let me know. We will ride directly for our 12pm tour at the Outback Kangaroo Farm (http://www.outbackkangaroofarm.com/) ($8 cash only admission fee).
Here's the route: http://goo.gl/maps/9XDpE - Bring a copy just in case (good practice for all rides).
After the tour we'll head over to The Restaurant at Rhodes River Ranch (http://therestaurantatrhodesriverranch.com) for lunch and more animal entertainment.
This is an All-Levels ride taking us mostly along the backroads. I want to encourage riders of all levels to join us, whether it's your first ride with the group or you're a regular. This will be in sport-touring fashion with the spirited riders up front and the casual riders in the back so we all can ride at a pace we like. Before making turns, we'll follow the dirt biker's lead and have each person wait for the person behind them. Depending on the interest/numbers, will break into smaller groups based on ride style.
After the lunch, we can pay our respects and head up Hwy 530 through Oso to Concrete. After you can take the freeway directly home or take the backroads back to Monroe then part from there. I'll lead a 'secret' 2-hr route down the back roads to Hwy 2/522 and/or to 405.
