Hurricane Ridge

http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/f/d/6/event_156156822.jpegBeen talking to a few people about doing a ride out to Hurricane Ridge and include some of the Destination Highways twisted edges we did on a couple of the Kitsap Pen rides. Since the extended forecast (http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/redmond-wa/98052/september-weather/341347) is predicting summer weather all throughout September and I don't have a free weekend until after the Oyster Run, this looks like a good time to do it.

We'll be taking the 10:30am ferry (can't make the earlier one). Don't get in the car wait line and head directly to the staging area. Arrive about 30 mins early, boarding starts about 20 mins prior to sailing.
Arrived gassed up before getting on ferry so we can only have 2 gas stops - more time riding, less time stopping. Advise getting tickets online (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/wave2go/) in advance.

It's about 7 hrs, 221 miles, not including stops for lunch, gas and photos (yes, I will stop for some photos - ha!). Plan on this being a spirited ride, an intermediate level ride due to all the twisties, length of the ride and highway speeds - not a good beginner ride, but if you think you can keep up...

There is a $5 fee to go up the road, so be sure to bring cash.
