Carpooling and other information about El Dorado Canyon Hike and Picnic

Hello Folks!

I need to up date you on some information about this Saturday's hike to El Dorado Canyon. The most important being is an email I received from Parnelli Pete regarding the trail head parking lots I suggested meeting at to help with carpooling and getting into El Dorado State Park. Parnelli is correct about parking at the three Trail Head Parking lots. Dowdy Draw, South Mesa and North Table Mesa. To park at either three of these parking lots you must either pay a 5 dollar fee or be a Boulder Resident with Boulder tags on your car. This went into affect last March. When you get to the intersection of 170 and 93 take a right if you're coming from Golden or Denver and you'll see a RTD Park and Ride if you're coming from Boulder you'll want to take a left. Remember if you carpool from the RTD be sure to bring your food for the picnic and whatever else you need. I'm going to get to the canyon early to reserve a spot for those who want to stay. They have BBQ grills if you want to bring the BBQ bricks and fluid. I'll meet those who want to carpool with me at around 8:15 at the Park and Ride at 170 and 93. I will not be leaving after the hike but will be staying for the picnic. Meaning I won't leave to take anyone to their car and drive all the way back. If you decide to drive into the park the entry fee is 8 dollars. Also, I lied about the El Dorado Spring Water being 2 bucks a gallon...it's only 25 cents per gallon. This is the same El Dorado Spring Water sold in stores at over 4 bucks per gallon.

So anyway, That's it for now. I hope to see you all on Saturday!!!

Sincerely,

Don
